Expecting to change my residence in town for the country makes it proper that I should inform you of my wish to resign the office of Portsmouth with which I have been entrusted, I (illegible) ask of you the appointment of some person to take charge of the office, + to whom I may (illegible), at the end of this quarter, the property in my charge belonging to the Post Office Department.
